HG Walter

51 Palliser Road, W14 9EB

This is the best butcher in London. It’s dedicated to traditional and free-range farming methods and I can’t resist their quail scotch eggs. hgwalter.com

River Café

Thames Wharf, Rainville Road, W6 9HA

Legendary and still wonderful, especially when you phone on the way home and they miraculously have a late table. rivercafe.co.uk

Thames Path

Bishops Park, Bishop’s Avenue, SW6 6EA

This is a gorgeous tree-lined walk from Fulham FC to Putney Bridge. Stop for coffee at the Bishop’s Palace and soak up its history. tfl.gov.uk/modes/walking/thames-path

Chelsea Arts Club

143 Old Church Street, SW3 6EB

This effortlessly retains its bohemian style. Lunch in the delightful gardens is one of summer’s greatest treats. chelseaartsclub.com

Michael Hoppen Gallery

3 Jubilee Place, SW3 3TD

This leading photography gallery represents a group of brilliant fine art photographers, one of whom — Eamonn Doyle — found his way to our walls at home. michaelhoppengallery.com

Rabbit

172 King’s Road, SW3 4UP

This has small plates of thrillingly imaginative “wild” English cuisine and wines from the owners’ vineyard in West Sussex. Perfect for a long lazy lunch or a quick pre-cinema supper. rabbit-restaurant.com

Curzon

Chelsea 206 King’s Road, SW3 5XP

This is an art house cinema with a nice café as well as amazingly comfortable Pullman seats. curzoncinemas.com

Space NK

27 Duke of York Square, SW3 4LY

With a small, carefully curated range of cosmetics, this is a place to discover new brands and reacquaint yourself with old favourites. It also runs a brilliant loyalty scheme and is generous with samples. spacenk.com
