Operating on a “House of Friends” policy – a communal sentiment encouraging guests to feel at ease – the boutique hotel blends 70s bohemia with traditional architecture.  

THE HOTEL 

Immediately upon entry, you’re greeted with IZZA’s design-forward nature. Inspired by the architect and socialite Bill Willis, best known for his revival of traditional techniques such as tadelakt and zellij, the vibe at IZZA is curated, not cluttered. Colourful walls contrast with black-and-white prints, while geometric tiles are accented with bronze details. 

The hotel has just 14 rooms, each named for icons of the 70s and kitted out with furniture you’ll want to shrink into your suitcase to take home – think Berber rugs, embroidered chairs, marble and mahogany tables. As the city famously hums, the hotel has designed the rooms to be a true oasis of calm. Whether it’s melting into the giant mattress after a day exploring the souks, or sipping at a morning coffee on your Juliet balcony, there’s plenty of opportunity for some well-earned R&R. 

A notable feature of the hotel is its 300-strong collection of digital and print artworks. Comprising both contemporary and traditional works, the anthology pays homage to Moroccan culture and its enduring creative spirit. FOOD AND DRINK 

Anyone who’s been to Marrakech will know that the best places to eat are on a rooftop. Fortunately, IZZA has Noujoum, which provides 360-degree views of the city – ideal for watching the sunset over a spritz or two. Here you can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner and indulge in everything from freshly baked pastries and beghrir pancakes to seafood towers and meaty oysters from nearby providers in Dakhla, Safi and Oualidia. For something closer to ground level, the Bill Willis bar, a stylish watering hole inspired by the man himself, is a must. 

WELLNESS 

IZZA’s in-house spa offers respite from the hubbub of the city. From massage rooms to the invigorating hammam, every space has been carefully designed and features contemporary art from the hotel’s own Museum In The Medina. On offer here is a sequence of experiences with ancient origins, such as the signature massages that use a blend of sweet almond, verbena and neroli oils. 

THE PRIZE

Now for the best part… the details of the prize. The winner will receive a three-night stay at IZZA, complete with a daily à la carte breakfast. They’ll also have a three-course meal in the hotel’s restaurant, as well as a massage treatment at the in-house spa.
