A walk you are looking forward to taking?

I always enjoy walking through the streets of the city at night or early on Sunday morning when all is calm. I usually start at Bank and thread my way through many of the old alleys and side-streets, taking in the juxtaposition of old and new, imagining the daily life that has taken place in the backstreets for hundreds of years.

A new book you want to read?

I am fascinated by history and classic cars so something related to those subjects often grabs my inquisitive mind.

Which bars will you be visiting?

I am fond of tippling in The Connaught as there is much glamour and lovely detailing to admire whilst sipping a Globetrotter.

Which cafés?

The Regency on Regency Street in SW1 - think traditional formica, mugs of piping hot tea and a hearty builder's breakfast.

Which new restaurants?

Caravan Bankside - although not that new anymore - is a favourite of mine. It has a very interesting menu with stimulating combinations and unusual recipes.

Any in-the-know shops you might go to ?

Cromford Leather on Chiltern St, classic men’s coats and apparel with a subtle twist.

Where might you get a lovely spa feature done – or, where do you enjoy getting fit?

I train with Pal Nemeth and swim in a private pool close to my office in Victoria. I rarely use a spa unless I am on holiday, but I could easily be a regular in Teds Grooming Room in Lancaster Place for the occasional tidying.

Your favourite hidden spot in London?

Vincent Square would be my ideal choice to make a home, peaceful, overlooking sports pitches and often as quiet as the countryside.

Your favourite London brand and why?

Bolongaro Trevor for their t-shirts, quirky cut, flattering fit and comfortable fabrics, what’s not to like?
