With ultra-luxe interiors by international designer Francis Sultana, discover why the Berkeley Square boutique is well worth the visit

Renowned jeweller Fawaz Gruosi - widely known as the founder of Swiss brand de Grisogono - recently opened the doors to a new flagship in Mayfair. Excitingly, this marks the first bricks-and-mortar manifestation of his recently launched eponymous high jewellery line, which will encapsulate the same creative and bold aesthetic spirit that Gruosi is recognised for.

To create a suitably elegant environment within the Berkeley Square boutique, Gruosi enlisted the talents of Francis Sultana. The Maltese-born, London-based interior designer introduced a 1920s Art Deco scheme with a nod to Paris and New York, complete with capitalised columns, a sweeping mirrored staircase and plush velvet upholstery. He also made use of such materials as bullion threaded tweed, rock crystal and marble to ensure a luxurious feel in all parts of the store.

Gruosi's new line of jewels looks right at home in such a sophisticated setting. In the collection, rare coloured gems have been custom cut to form strikingly contemporary silhouettes, while combinations of hard stone, jade, turquoise, onyx, coral, Ceylan sapphire, emerald, white diamond or golden amber or blue sapphire make for exceptional pieces.
