With the Breitling Navitimer 1 Automatic 41 Limited edition, the leading Swiss watch brand has put a spin on one of their most iconic timepieces

Any Breitling aficionado worth his salt will know that the Breitling Navitimer has been regarded as one of the world’s very best pilot’s watches since its launch in 1952. Now, almost seven decades later, the brand has revisited its heritage design with a fresh look, high-tech features and a contemporary appeal, resulting in the Breitling Navitimer 1 Automatic 41 Limited Edition.

Fans of the classic style can be reassured that the new timepiece retains its heritage essence, crafted with a design influenced by the Nativimer Ref. 806 and Reference 66. For instance, while the stainless steel case is detailed with a smart 18k red gold biodirectional rotating bezel, Breitling’s signature green dial still features – a shade echoed in the elegant green alligator strap.

21st century technology has played its part, naturally. The hour markers and hour and minute hands have been coated with luminescent Super-LumiNova, allowing you to read the dial in any lighting condition. There is also the automatic movement, the Breitling Caliber 17, which comes with a power reserve that stretches to approximately 38 hours. The watch is water-resistant to 3 bar (which translates to 30 metres/100 feet) – reassuring if you forget to take it off in the pool this summer.

Available exclusively at Harrods within the UK, the new Breitling timepiece is available in an ultra-limited run of 50 – nab one while you can.
