Swiss luxury stationers Caran d’Ache go back to the basics giving the humble pencil a makeover with a line of scented pencils made from rare woods

Established in 1915 Caran d’Ache has long since been a purveyor of fine writing instruments best know for its drawing pencils. Celebrating the sensuous act of writing, the brand has extended their range of ‘Crayons de la Maison Caran d’Ache’ with a collection of four scented rare wood pencils made from sustainably sourced white oak, silver teak, white ash and western hemlock.

Devised in partnership with Geneva-based perfume specialists Mizensir, each HB graphite pencil is scented with the Maison’s ‘Bois de Tibet’ fragrance. With notes of patchouli, incense and tonka beans, the fragrance evokes the discovery that comes hand in hand with creativity of writing and artistic pursuits.
