Ms. Marvel is coming to Disney + in Summer 2022.

Newcomer Iman Vellani will take on the role of Kamala Khan AKA Ms.Marvel in an upcoming Disney + show slated for release on 8 June.

Khan was first introduced in a 2002 issue of Captain Marvel before becoming the first Muslim Superhero to headline their own solo series in 2004.

Within the Marvel Comics Universe, Khan is a Pakistani-American from New Jersey who discovers she has shapeshifting abilities thanks to her ‘Inhuman’ genes and assumes the mantle of her hero, Ms. Marvel, after Carol Danvers becomes Captain Marvel.

The ‘Inhumans’, genetically altered humans with extraordinary powers, were the focus of a failed Marvel show a few years ago and have been all but erased from the MCU, so the expectation is Khan will have a different origin story, unless the unexpected happens.

With Moon Knight next up on the Marvel Disney + roster followed by Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, Secret Invasion, Agatha: House of Harkness, Spider-Man: Freshman Year, Echo, X-Men 97, I am Groot, Iron Heart, Marvel Zombies, Loki Season 2, What If Season 2 and and series based on Wakanda yet to come, there's never been a better time to be a comic book fan.

Ms.Marvel is due to stream on Disney + on the June 8th.
