Coloured by his vivacious imagination, ceramic vases by British artist John Booth are characterised by his bold and illustrative style. Booth, a fashion graduate and former lecturer at Central Saint Martins, applies techniques of fashion such as pattern making to his craft.

Each vessel is hand rolled from a slab of clay before the face is cut out using a paper template. After firing, an underglaze is applied, before abstract facial details in thick, brightly coloured strokes are painted on. Booth is much sought after for his unique style and has collaborated with Globetrotter and Fendi, which incorporated his artwork in its SS17 collection.

Looking to further his craft, Booth is now working on creating wood, glass and ceramic furniture. £POA, [email protected]
