This London summer is turning out to be one for the history books. With record-breaking temperatures, endless warm evenings and spritzs seemingly on tap, it’s safe to say, so far it’s been pretty heavenly. The good news is that we have at least a month left of the season and the even better news is that we’ve sourced all the best events, openings and escapes so you can make the most of it. Here's what's on in London this August.
What’s on in London in August
30th July 2026
Your edit of what’s on in London this month, plus a couple of excuses to leave the city.
LUCA Launches New Menu
This month, one of our favourite Michelin-starred Italian restaurants in London, LUCA, is launching a new three-course menu to celebrate its 10th birthday. Written by Robert Chambers, it’ll feature the restaurant’s iconic parmesan fries (which have been on the menu since day one), a Ligurian bull’s heart served with tomatoes, grilled yellow peaches, stracciatella and black olives, followed by tagliarini with Cornish lobster and a caramelised lemon tart with fennel ice cream.

Yoga at Aviary Rooftop Restaurant & Terrace
For a spot of wellness in between all the BBQs and summer parties, the Aviary Rooftop Restaurant & Terrace is hosting yoga sessions every Sunday in August. In partnership with influencer and instructor Emily Mouu, each session will take place against a backdrop of London’s skyline and help participants stretch, strengthen and revitalise. From there, it’s just a short walk to brunch where you can choose from all the classics – everything from American pancakes to smoked salmon bagels.

Cate Blanchett Stars in Electra/Persona at The National
Cate Blanchett will be treading the boards in London once more with her upcoming performance in Electra/ Persona. Staged at The National, the play fuses the ancient Greek classic Electra with Ingmar Bergman’s 1966 Persona myth in a powerful exploration of identity. Given Blanchett’s history in the theatre – she and her husband previously ran the Sydney Theatre Company – as well as the two Oscars in her locker, it certainly will be one not to miss.

We Out Here Festival
British summer is synonymous with festivals, and as it’s a fallow year for Glastonbury, you may well have a muddy-welly shaped hole in your plans. To fill the void, Beat’s Hotel is making its debut at We Out Here, where it’ll be transforming a corner of the festival into a Mexican- -inspired mezcal bar and music venue, soundtracked by the likes of Alex Kassian, Coco Maria, Ruby Savage, Prosumer, Make A Dance, Paula Tape and more.
We Out Here is on from 20th – 23rd August at weoutherefestival.com
The South London Wine Fair
North London may have a higher concentration of wine bars, but South London now has a whole wine fair. Coming to Crystal Palace Park on 22nd August, attendees will be able to taste over 100 wines and meet with importers and winemakers from all over the world. Upon arrival, you receive a glass that allows you to sample any wine from the 20+ exhibitors ranging in style from classic to natural. The event is spearheaded by the Crystal Palace Wine Club, a new wine bar and cheese shop, where your fair wristband entitles you to 50% off a glass of house wine.
